Thai Food and Culture festival

On Saturday, August 24th, the Thai Food and Culture Festival will once again take place at the Balti Jaam Market, where the NOK NOK family will offer exotic flavors for you to enjoy on the spot or take away.

This year’s festival is larger than ever: nearly 20 representatives of Thai culture have promised to participate, bringing the culinary arts, customs, culture, and beauty of this wonderful country closer to us. For the second year in a row, the NOK NOK restaurant, led by head chef Khampan Pukdangpan, will also be participating.

Authentic Thai flavors

Head chef Khampan is a true enthusiast of Thai cuisine and wholeheartedly welcomes the opportunity to introduce beloved flavors to a wider audience. Therefore, the NOK NOK festival menu is as authentic as possible, consisting of dishes that provide a good overview of typical Thai street food – from spring rolls and nourishing salads to delicate and spicy curries.

The crown jewel of the festival menu is one of the chef’s personal favorites: Crispy Pork Belly – a richly flavored and zesty dish that, after six hours of cooking in the oven, becomes crispy on the outside yet so tender and juicy on the inside that it literally melts in your mouth. The meat is further enhanced by a spicy lime sauce. You should definitely try the milder red curry and the spicier green curry, which are the best-selling dishes at NOK NOK restaurant.

For dessert, NOK NOK chefs offer Mango Sticky Rice, one of the most traditional desserts in Thai cuisine. This lightly coconut-flavored dessert is served with fresh, ripe mango. On-site, you can quench your thirst with coconut water, with the coconut opened right before your eyes.

To take home, the chefs, under Khampan’s guidance, prepare pad thai sauce and kra pao stir-fry sauce, which you can purchase to make authentic Thai food at home.

Surprises not only for your taste buds

In addition to restaurants, many other representatives of Thai culture from various fields will also participate. There will be live cooking demonstrations, folk music and dance performances, opportunities to enjoy Thai massage, and even a Thai boxing show.

The festival is free for everyone and runs on August 24th from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

See you there! แล้วพบกันใหม่
